New single Soldier by Iskwé

unnamed (6)

Iskwé has released a new single Soldier from her upcoming album The Fight Within, out October 13. Describing the song she says “It’s impossible to know what shape our planet will be in several generations down the road. What I do know is that we need to do better. Soldier is for all the protectors of our land, our water and our future generations.

While my music is undoubtedly a source of deep, personal strength for me, it is also a form of protest––protest against the continued hardships of the North American Indigenous community, protest against flippant legislature failing to protect our lands and waterways, and protest against fallout women face when speaking out on issues within the music industry. unnamed (4)

Bravestation have just released a perfect summer hit single called Up For You. The trio are currently working on their debut full length album but wanted to release this single for summer and have described it as something “to turn up while day drinking on the lake in a boat or lounging/partying by the pool with friends”.

The song sprung from collaborative sessions during last July’s heat wave with producer Michael Sonier and Juno Award winning ‘Engineer of the Year’, Jason Dufour. It was the first time the band worked with an outside production team and it allowed them to hone their craft. Also from these recording sessions came previous single “13th Floor” which appeared on numerous global Spotify playlists and earned a spot in Apple Music’s ‘Hot Tracks’ list.

In describing the process the band says “We were excited to finally work with pros and compiled like 30+ electronic-based demos on our laptops in anticipation of recording with these guys, but in the last week of the writing process we started jamming as a band for the first time when the idea for Up For You came to life. From all the songs they had to pick from, Michael and Jason chose the two that we wrote in the final couple of days as their favs after months of demoing…”

East of Eli releases new single Childsplay from his upcoming release Lost in Transmission. This follows on the success of his debut single Nowhere. East of Eli is the stunning musical project from singer-songwriter Nathan West.

“Childsplay” details the feelings of falling in love for the first time and features his wife actress Chyler Leigh on backing vocals. The electro pop single is a poignant coming of age story with West brilliantly detailing the confusion, excitement and anticipation of first love.  West confides “the reason behind the song was to help my son navigate the next five years of his life as he winces ever closer to the ‘coming of age’ years in his life.  I felt sharing my experience would give him much needed insight and perspective on what he may expect and also let him know he has someone on his side that can relate to on his own journey”.
